This is Just The Right Shoe ~ BARONESS which is Item #25085 and was created by Willitts Design. ~ As a poet of the period said, "WEARING HIGH HEELS TO THE BALL MADE IT FASHIONABLE TO TEETER AND FALL." ~ While a thick heel for men had it's origins in horsemanship, fashion soon dictated higher and less stable heels for the sake of stature. ~ For a lady, the angle of the heel often forced her to require a cane (or a gentleman on her arm) to keep from falling. ~ The intricate embroidery and rhinestone buckle show the wealth and opulence of the French Court where such shoes were worn. ~~~~~
